Day 1
The Blues began their final fixture of 2013 today at Fenners, Cambridge.
Cambridge won the toss and elected field
Oxford ended the day on 377 for 4 as captain Sam Agarwal struck a tremendous unbeaten double-hundred as his side dominated the opening day of the annual first-class Varsity fixture against Cambridge University at Fenner’s.
The game was finely balanced at 131 for three as Alasdair Pollock, Thomas Wylie and Ben Wylie took a wicket apiece. However, Agarwal dominated a fourth-wicket stand of 194 with Matt Winter - one of five Oxford players of first-class debut. The 22 year-old, India-born all-rounder reached three figures for the second time this season in first-class cricket, the third time in his career, and appears to have a bright future, having already represented Surrey second XI in 2013.
