Charles Fry (1940-2024)
Everyone at OUCC was very saddened to hear of the passing of former president Charles Anthony Fry. Charles' initial involvement with OUCC came as a student at Trinity College, playing first class cricket for the University between 1959-1961. Fry played 41 first-class matches for the University, scoring 1,576 runs at an average of 24.24.
In later life, Charles was president of the MCC in 2003 and also held the role of chairman of both the MCC and MCC foundation. In addition, Charles continued his association with OUCC, serving as president of the Club. Charles' commitment and dedication to OUCC has been instrumental in the growth of the club and we remain very grateful for all his contributions.
Our thoughts are with Charles' family and friends at this time.
